What?
A site for a small, family-run denim studio in Helsinki. Julia Meyer makes everything by hand. She does repairs, alterations, made-to-measure work and small-batch pieces. The site has seven pages (home, about, price list, shop, gallery, denim care and visit), and gift cards are sold through the shop. Built from nothing.
Why?
I already maintain the site for ridenjoy.fi, the Meyer family's wakeboarding business, and I was asked to build a second one for the denim workshop. The design started from a visit to the workshop and a coffee together.
How?
It is WordPress, hosted at Domainhotelli on a subdomain of ridenjoy, so no new domain was needed and the workshop is clearly part of the family's business. The theme is built from scratch from reference pictures the family gave me, and the design and code were made with Claude.
Unlike this site, the owner can change prices and add photos herself without going through me. A site nobody maintains is a site that goes stale.
What's next?
It needs no active maintenance, but I will keep polishing it, keep it up to date and add new ideas.
