What?
The website of the Meyer family's company. I did not build it. I took it over from the person who did and I keep it running, with updates, fixes and changes as the business needs them.
What I found
I was new to WordPress and WooCommerce and had never worked with payment systems. The site was built in an eclectic way with no internal logic, it looks dated and sometimes it has problems. Some of them were beyond what I could solve at the time, so I am learning as I go.
What I've changed
Many small things, like creating products, fixing pages and correcting database entries. I have not done a full front-end rebuild, because the site is busy in season and I do not want to break it. I make backups and wait for a time when a change cannot cost the business income.
Why it matters
Building a site is the easier part. The harder work is reading someone else's code, changing it without breaking a running business, and still being able to maintain it a year later.
